Machines Explained
Going to the gym for the first time can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. There are so many machines and equipment around you might not know where to start. Don’t worry though. This is something to consider nowadays and we will help walk you through all of these machines and what they do so that your experience at the gym is a positive one!
The first thing you’ll want to familiarize yourself with is the treadmill. This machine is a great cardio workout and can be used for interval training as well, which means you alternate between speeds for a certain amount of time throughout your run.
The next thing you should learn about are the weight machines . These will help regulate your muscles so that they’re not working against each other – essentially giving balanced strength development across all muscle groups. Each exercise has an explanation label on it telling you what to do and how many reps/sets etc., but make sure you always read carefully before starting!
Lastly, we have free weights (dumbbells) . These really work those smaller stabilizing muscles in addition to getting big results from your larger muscle groups like arms, legs and chest. Just be careful when lifting heavy weights as you can really injure yourself if you’re not doing it correctly!
Now that you know a little bit about the machines, get out there and give them a try! The more comfortable you feel at the gym, the more likely you are to stick with your fitness routine. And who knows – maybe one day you’ll even become a regular!
