Should You Use Quartz Glass and When
Quartz glass is a type of glass that is composed of a mixture of silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide and iron. Quartz glass has been around for over 100 years and it was first used as an alternative to windowpanes in homes. Today, quartz glass can be found in many different applications including shower doors, tiles for floors and walls, kitchen countertops and more. Today’s quartz glass is not the same as it was 100 years ago when its main purpose was just to take place of normal windowpanes. These days you can find many different types of quartz glass that are more durable than ever before . One down side associated with using this material for countertops however is that they usually come in limited color options (although there are some companies like Allurez who offer a wide selection).
The benefits associated with using quartz are its durability, affordability (especially compared to granite), versatility (it comes in various colors) easy maintenance since they’re non-porous surfaces ,and resistance against heat and scratches. Also, it’s a strong material which means it’s a good choice for areas of your home that receive a lot of wear and tear . Another benefit includes the ability to be paired with other materials including wood, metal and plastic.
However, if you want to install quartz in your home make sure the installer is reputable and experienced because there are some cons associated with this type of glass as well: they can crack or break more easily than other types of glass (especially when exposed to heat), it’s easy for stains and dust particles to get trapped between its surface which makes cleaning a bit difficult ,and since most manufacturers use recycled materials; there might be little impurities that could result into visual defects such as tiny air bubbles or pitting.
