Carrying and Packing Tips
Moving is one of the most stressful events in life, and it can be even more stressful when you don’t plan ahead. We will provide 8 easy steps to help you maximize your moving plan for a smooth transition from your old home to your new home. The Great Moving Tips include things like carrying and packing tips that will make the process much easier on yourself!
The first thing that you should do is pack a moving kit. You can buy one or simply use a regular household item, such as an empty box and markers to label it. Your packing kit should have the essentials that you will need during your move:
-Locks for storage containers/a padlock if using public transportation (such as UPS)
You can also include items like snacks, water bottles, tissues/wipes, hand sanitizer wipes, sweatpants and sweatshirts so that you don’t have to run around town looking for things last minute. It may seem insignificant now but believe us when we say this – having these items on hand will make your much easier! Most importantly, your moving kit should include a hand-held radio to listen to music or the news if you’re feeling stressed.
Moving on from that – next up is packing! You may have heard some people say ‘pack as if you are going away for one month instead of just four weeks’ and while it seems like this would take longer – we assure you that it will save time in the long run because after those first few days, things start slipping through the cracks simply because everything is so disorganized.
