Herbal Teas
Winter is a time for cocooning, being cozy and warm. But it also brings with it the winter blues, which can leave many people feeling down in the dumps. Thankfully there are plenty of ways to beat these blues! Herbal teas are an excellent way to stay healthy during the winter months. Read on to find out about some of our favorite herbal teas and love potion strain that will help you fight off those pesky winter blues this season!
The first thing you need to do is get a warm and cozy mug because it’s time for tea!
To start, we love drinking rooibos iced in the summertime. It gets its deep red color from antioxidants called flavonoids, which are powerful anti-inflammatory agents that can help reduce the appearance of under-eye circles or inflammation caused by allergies. Check out our article on how you can use this wonder herb as an eye serum here . This winter try making some hot rooibos with milk before bedtime to see if it helps soothe your mind and body while you sleep more soundly. If you’d prefer something not quite as heavy then check out honeybush , another type of herbal tea made from leaves instead of flowers. Honeybush is naturally caffeine-free, so it’s a great alternative to rooibos or other herbal teas if you are sensitive to caffeine .
It’s also important to stay hydrated during the winter because liquids help keep your body warm! The best way for this is with homemade hot chocolate which lets you control what goes into it. This means no added sugars , artificial flavors or colors that can leave you feeling jittery and drained after drinking them. Try making some at home using cocoa powder, milk, spices like cinnamon and nutmeg (which have their own benefits) and honey instead of sugar (to add sweetness while keeping things healthier). If you’re not much of a morning person then try having some chai tea.
